week4 day 3: electrician~

salam~

after having breakfast with k ina..en azhar n en yusof asked if i want to follow them to hangar6..it was a monthly check-up before they report back on their meeting. so i went with them along with a contractor..

main problem was the floor painting..so they are considering repainting..then suddenly the engineering staff of hangar6 came and told us that 4 of their jet socket dont have power..so we went there to check. calling the chargeman and vendors, they checked and concluded that all 4 of the sockets need to be replaced. so we went back to the office because those socket need to be ordered from oversea..malaysia dont have any of those yet..sad~

then in the evening..i was planning to just concentrating on my assignment since en sahar asked me almost each day..haha..so then i made my move..i went to see abg zainal, he's the one keeping all the record on all bills that MAS complex need to pay..whoaaa..the bill is reaching millions..well..as expected..hehe..so took the values so that i can proceed with my electricity evaluation of the ACC. i need to compare the bill for the 2009 since they have installed new meter there. they assume the cargo area only uses 20% of the overall electric consumption. so i need to prove either they was right or wrong.

just before 5.30pm..en din called me..he said..i should follow the vendors so that i can learn better..doing real electrical works..so i can learn them hands-on. at first i was rebellious..haha..then after some hard thinking..i think it is true..this is the time i got the chance to learn..without any force..hoho..so i borrowed safety shoes from a friend..so today(thursday) i will be an electricial! hohoho..wish me luck!

week4 day 2: Advance Cargo Center

salam~

since yesterday was so hectic..i thought today will be bored..so i am well prepared for boredom..i was planning to start writing and doing research on my assignments..but then at 10am..en sahar told me..wak dahari, the chargeman was waiting for me to go to ACC for meter reading..so i went with him to almost all cargo agent's offices..gosh..what an experience..he said..i am lucky to get to each and every office there is..because if we didnt do the meter reading..on what purpose will i be allowed to set foot on every office..haha..my task was just to read the numbers on the meter then wak dahari will keep the record. then i followed them to Hgr 6 attending a complaint about wrong fix female socket..yes..socket has gender..info for today~

so i hope..tomorrow i can get to go somewhere else..just to keep me away from my desk..gosh i am made to be an engineer..i need a desk NOT! desk makes me sleepy..oh..no wonder i felt sleepy when i study..hehe~

week4 day 1: i love site visit!

monday blues..well..i thought i just as a trainee wont have those..but actually i do felt just the same..haha~

arrived at the office at 8.10am..shocked! the door was closed..even the roller shutter was down..what happened? i was about to call my friend to ask whether its a holiday..haha..then i remember..oh..the door can be opened with its switch..so..search for the switch..and hope its not locked..yea! 1st time ever using a roller shutter..haha..so yes! i'm the 1st to arrived today..then k leha..then cik din..then k shima..then..then..thats all? omg! it is monday blues for everyone..k leha siad..everyone was having mc, car stuck in traffic jam..car cant start..omg! in the end..left on 6 of us..and abg maswan the econ master need to come in to take the hotline..haha..lucky they didnt ask me..hoho~

then..around 10am..en din was preparing to go to cargo area..i was frustrated at 1st because i know en kamal wont take me as i dont have the apron pass..but then..when en din saw me...he asked.." kamu nk ikot ke? " without asking where to..i just answered yes! haha..gosh i am super eager to end the monday blues..then in the lift i asked en din..oh..there was a trip at the visitor center..hoho..yes..my field! so..he stopped there.and i saw wak dahari, the chargeman was there..yey..i am relieved..among 4 chargemen..only 2 seems to be ok with me following them here and there...wak dahari and mr mokhtar..so today..i am wak's shadow..hohoho..along with mr megat, alif,mizi and other 4 guys..the case was kinda big..we were testing here and there..quite tiring..i didnt know troubleshooting would be that hard...well..ok..i know it's tedious but not that hard..so in the end..2 causes found..but they said..it could be not it..as it keep on tripping..they change the lighting of the signboard, change the ELCB, earth leakage circuit breaker and major problem..cable insulation faulty..one of the gate at the entrance was malfunctioning..so they will put on tender for vendors..so i was sent back to the office at 2.30pm..gosh! tired..but like always..i cant stay at the office for long..i need to move! so at 3pm..i heard en din was going to cargo again..taking a bunch of contractor for a site visit before they proceed with a new project of changing the fire fighting water sprinkler at theAdvance Cargo Center, ACC. so like in the morning..en din asked..kamu nk ikot ke? nak!! haha..so here i go..my 1st visit to the ACC. actually en sahar has given me few assignments to complete that related to the ACC..so now..i got a clearer idea on the assignments! yes!

the 1st part was meter measuring at the ACC since they just installed meter for electric usage..so i need to measure, compare and analyse..

2nd part: the level of illumination at the ACC to respond to complaint that they need more light..according to my supervisor, the lights are sufficient according to the lux level set by government spec~

so..my day at the office today was not so long..next thing i know its already 5.30pm..time to go home! yey!

week3 day 5: last day of week 3

friday~

most of the big guys at the admin building are going out for meetings..so i am glad i am going to FMB again today..yey~

but sadly..mr md noor was on leave..but k ramlah was in..yey~

so i am left with adnan, shah and sofa. they took me around attending complaints~
1. request of extension at ticketing counter..gosh..many passengers were stranded there due to the ashes up in europe..
2. air-cond service..and carpet issue..need to add more glue..gosh~
3. i asked them to teach me how to dram the single line diagram of the assignment en yusof gave me last week..hehe..and i need to check with en zaflee and hj radhi bout that first~ thanks guys! ^_^

so at 4pm i took the shuttle back to the complex~

today was fikri's last day doing practical there..so he treat all with nasi braini..thanks fikri..and also thanks for everything..nice to know u even for such a short time..and good luck with ur new path ahead!

hm..property department will be getting another trainee next month..a girl electrical engineer-to-be from uitm..cant wait to meet her~

week3 day 4: flight management bulding, FMB

thursday~

at 9am, i rushed downstairs for the feeder shuttle to FMB, yea! today..another adventure! finally~

arrived at FMB in 20min..gosh..didnt know klia and lcct quite far..then i search for Property department...after asking a cleaner lady, and she showed me gladly (still have my charms with cleaners like they say..haha~) so..there it was..property department..i was told that they have on 3 MAS staff there plus 3 vendors whom will help with the complaints..and to my anxiousness..i was told that the only women is k ramlah..and she was on medical leave today..gosh..no women around..thats scary..i thought..then as i entered..i saw 3 men..1st was mr md noor, the charge-man i met the other day..relieved~ and another 3..introduced as adnan, shah and sofaruddin..after some introduction with them, the building supervisor cum boss at Property FMB asked me to join him for breakfast..so i did..along with en md noor..summarized..there do everything there..from complaints to requests, from electrical works to plumbing..so i am amazed they have only 7 people working there..the area they handle includes the FMB, ticket conter, the link-bridge connecting FMB to terminal, 3 golden lounges and satellite which placed 1st class golden lounge which i am really really really looking forward to set foot in ^_^

then en md noor ask adnan to show me around..he took me to the HT,LV rooms, few others maintenance related rooms and the terminal..

week3 day 3: free commercial zone (FCZ)

wednesday~

en kamal promised to take me to the custom building to take my FCZ pass..so i waited for him..he was in early that day..but en din asked him to him for a round..just a monthly spot check i guess..so..there they goes..and i waited in the office..then en zaflee asked me to follow him to the Engineering Central Store o survey on the lighting system..i need to count and report back to en din bout the lights..and to our surprise..in total of 102 lights only 8 are working finely..others..either they have blown bulbs or broken housing. so they decided to put the job on tender. i'm guessing a lot of work there..then..back to the office~

around 11am..they came back..and en kamal took me for the pass..and yea..finally..my 2nd pass~

so after thanking en kamal for taking me there, supposedly i go to FMB, flight management building..but i told mr md noor i will go there the next day..so i sat there..finishing my report on the lighting at ECS to submit to mr zaflee and en din. done..and i continue with my readings on transformer..today i read on short circuit capacity..so..more clearer now~

week3 day 2: reading~

tuesday: nothing much done..i spend the day reading on how to do single line diagram for the 4th floor assignment by mr yusof..gosh its hard..hard for me who didnt really learn that in class..so i need to flip my GMI's notes back..and with some help for my brother's notes..hehe~

i met mr md noor yesterday, chargeman for facilities maintenance building at the KLIA terminal. he told me to go to his place because its somewhat the same with the complex only in smaller scale..so today after getting my MAHB pass i will going there by shuttle..hope i will learn more there..yosh!!!

week3 day 1: tired~

its a rainy n cloudy day..so its practically lazy and sleepy day..but without my nescafe..i endured such a tiring day..

9.00am: mr kamal brought me to custom department to do the fcz pass..then rite after the business there settled..i almost missed mr mokhtar, the chargeman..then i asked him where he's heading..then he said..cargo!!! yey! en mokhtar.nk ikot boley? sy dh de fcznye pass! hehe..so he said..boleh2! yes!!!

so mr mokhtar, his assistant, alif and i..headed to the cargo bilding..hehe..not as i expected.. i was expecting hi-tech humongous building..but to my surprise..it was just buiding..with offices..they only handle the cargo from far..the cargo will be taken care somewhere else..where i have no access to..sad~ but then en mokhtar showed me the Animal Hotel..sorry..no picture..forgot to bring the camera again..huhu..sad..the hotel was not like human hotel..just the fact that it would cost people like me a pocket! haha..even the canine and cats rooms are called suite..with air-conditioner mind u! seriuosly! well..i am amaze how much a man can love its pet..claps for them~

then mr mokhtar received a call..there were few trips around the area..so we attend it..few of the places was just  normal tripping..and the weird case today..an office at cargo B building reported blackout..so we went to the office to check..nothing on the db..so we check the meter board..omg! the yellow phase cable burned..and mr mokhtar said..if the cable touches the body of the board..it would definitely explode! omg! yes..i came to the rescue..cewah..so i followed them alarming all office in the buiding..about 10 of them..telling then to switch off their computers so that later when we turn off the main switch...no data would be lost..i was so amaze..ok..it was not so amazing but to me it was somthing very new..so at 12.50pm..mr mokhtar told me to switch the main power off..so i did.yes! haha..then they re-wire back the cable..ok..its wasnt so hard..think i can do it myself next time..mr mokhtar told his assistant to do most of the work..me as always..am a faithful observer..hehe..so after re-wiring done..mr mokhtar switched on the main power back..then we received another call from hanger 6..so we went there..it was a complaint made a year ago..a repeating problem i assume..so mr mokhtar said..this is big..they need to open up each 12 lights which are 3 meters above head..so he advised the reporter (erm..the guy did the report)  to email property department..because such case will need contracter to do..so after that we headed back to the office..mr mokhtar asked k ina to do another letter for me allowing me to go in the apron area..yes u read correct..apron is the landasan for the plane..haha..airways maybe more known to us..haha..so next time..i need to pay rm1 if i want to follow them to the cargo area..so that they dont have to send me first then drive way round..tedious..huhu..so me spend another ringgit? huhu...even a ringgit sound big when in a financial crisis like this..huhu..cant wait for the allowance!!!

week2 day 5: trainee engineer~

funny isnt it when people address u as a trainee engineer when u urself know..u cant even design a 30 socket single line diagram..haish..but like my mom said..just except it as a doa..amin~ ^_^

so today..since its friday..nothing much can be done in the morning..everyone was busy..bosses was going here and there..they are all going for meeting here and there..plus the collapsed fence near the runway..everyone was out..leaving me and the rest of the clerks at the office..so i fill my free time searching bout the transformer..reading on IP code..and before en din go to subang for his meeting..he told me to check the transformer plate later in the evening when the representative from ABB transformer come for testing..my hope was lifted..yes! site visit! so i waited for anyone who i can ask to send me there..so i sit there patiently..reading this and that..completing my log book..and waited~

friday prayer~

then on the evening..i heard someone called mr azhar..this is the funny part..he told the person on the phone to come to the office to see the trainee engineer..omg! thats me! haha..so i waited who is coming to see me? haha..then it turn out to be the chargeman and hj radzi the contractor..they came to check on the previous test on transformer..after seaching the whole office..then searched the drawing library..they found it..luckily the chargeman, mr dahari said i can follow them..so i did..yey! and here some picture form the visit to the main intake substation...here the incoming supply of 33kV from TNB were stepped down straight to 415V for few areas..but for other area and building..33kV are distributed to each..i asked the chargeman..why didnt they stepped the 33kV to 11kV first? he said, the designer think maybe in the future the complex would need more than 415V so they directly distribute the 33kV not 11kV..see..how advance the engineers back then? amazing~

the procedure is quite easy..

1: check diesel and engine oil levels

2. on the 2nd genset; setting it to parallel 

3. set the 1st genset to parellel from current single..

4. after few second..let both genset synchronised

5. set the 2nd genset to single

6. set the 1st genset to single

7. off 1st genset

8. 2nd genset take over the system for another 12 hours 

9. after 12 hours these procedures will again repeated by switching on the 1st genset letting the 2nd genset rest.

week2 day 4: hv lv

salam~

supposedly i do my MAHB pass today..but since everyone was busy so i just sat at my place completing my log book and wait if anyone calls~

then around 11am mr sahar called..i thought he was taking me to do the pass but then he took me to the HT room..where the transformer that burst last week was..new thing to see was 2 generators rented from the Sepang circuit..its kinda new..then they took me back to admin building to see the LV room and there i get t know what riser looks like..it is just a bus bar fixed from lower ground that received from the main intake to upstairs...new thing for me..before..i always see labels at the door.." riser"  but curiosity wasnt this great back then..haha~

then mr sahr took me to Hanger 6 to check on the air-cond problem there..so i followed him..it wasnt my area..but knowledge shouldnt be limited..hoho~

then around 1pm, our department had a farewell party for my fellow intern from MFI..alhamdullilah..end of intership for him..leaving me alone doing internship there before another girl form uitm come in mid mei~

so pass making should be tomorrow..or monday..so schuzyy need to wait patiently~

week2 day 3: meeting!!

omg! these few days..everyone was busy..leaving me at the office with tonnes of reading materials..and rite now..i dont want to read anything anymore!!! please..enough! like i told izat..i read but none was understood..huhu..today i read bout luminocity for my assignment..read bout transformer for the problem..just as preparation before going into the meeting at 3pm..haha..yes! i did say meeting!! haha..omg! my 1st meeting ever!  it was a meeting between us, MAS and transformer agent..he was from TBEA, a company producing transformer from china..and it was not so convincing..so en din decided to wait for ABB's before he decide on which transformer to take..gosh..1 33kV/415V transformer cost rm280K!!! omg!! and if they want to wait for the ABB's it would  cost them time..and mind them..the rent for the generator is rm15K a month! gosh! pity them but deep inside i would like to thank that transformer for bursting when i'm here..i can learn a lot there! hehe~

week 1 day 5: transformer tragedy~

today, i arrived bit late..i am now unsure what gender am i since i hate female drivers so much..how could u drive at a double line road with 40kmph? omg omg..and its friday! i wont mind if its weekdays..its working day ok..and to me..who need to travel 42km on a single journey every morning will need the speed to arrive on time..haish..yes..the journey from bangi to LCCT is 42km..that means i travel 84km each day to work and back..huhu..5 days equal to journey back to aloq staq..omg!

ok2..back to main point..i arrived in the office around 8.45am..hehe..5 min late...hehe..then k ina told me they have problem up with the transformer at the main intake..gosh..my luck! hoho..then en din came in..he told us that the tranformer burst so i can join them since that is my field! hoho..yes it is!! so then o followed him to the Bukit..it is a 3 phase transformer..and that was my first time to see one..and it was big! the red phase coil burnt so they need to replace the whole thing..and i get to see THAT happened! ahaaa..alhamdullilah..i was quite worried if they have nothing out of the ordinary..haha..so it happened..not that i'm happy tragedy happened to them..but these kinda good for my report..hehe..oh..and today i get to see how they set up the stand generator set..hoho..new thing~

what i learn today..apart from power thingy..i learn that later i need to work with MEN..huhu..which is a BIG problem to me..i am trying hard not to let the shyness out..i try to act normal..like i wont mind being with them..in that office we have 25 staff including the bosses..yes bosses..they have 2 parts with 2 different bosses in one office.and there are only 3 women..but this is the field i chose..so bare with it..what can i expect? its engineering azy! so i am learning the reality of engineering environment..thats what i learnt this week

week2 day 2: assignments!!!!

ok..morning i was bored like monday..then i went to en yusof..then suddenly he said..what if u try this..he assign me an assignment..it was actually just a single line diagram..but since i havent learn the rite way to do so..so i have so much trouble..which i think has jeopardize UNITEN's name there..so sorry uniten..i am trying my best here..so i ask mr raflee and hj radzi for consultations..so i am now understand bit more on the process..thank God en yusof told me to do that...haha

then in the evening..en sahar gave my 12 weeks schedule..so much excitements there!! hoho..cant wait for my MAHB's pass then i can go to the cargo area..hoho..cant wait to see animal hotel!!! haha~

but the surprise and scare are for assignments..they were all working-like..so i fear i cant do them good..huhu..scared~

week1 day 4: half boring day~

wednesday..hmm..k ina had fever so she was absent and the day felt so quiet..huhu..luckily k ina told me earlier to get the pass done..so at 9.30am..k shima asked abg kamal to send me to the site office where the safety briefing took place..so i went there for 2 hours..listen to aviation safety briefing..then i headed to the cashier to pay rm17 for the MAS pass..then went to the security department to do the pass which happened to ready on the spot..haha..and now i have a MAS id! yipee! i will scan the id later..huhu..camera still in the drawer..waiting to be fixed..sad~

then later that evening en sahar asked if i want to follow him to hanger 5 to check on air-cond problem..but it wasnt my field but i followed anyway since i have nothing to do in the office..went there with mr sahar n abg maswan..along with fikri the mfi trainee..and a contractor..the problem was complained by an office which didnt have sufficient cool air...so they decided to open the main duct and branch it to the office. ok i wasnt so sure bout the terms..hehe..but now i know bit more bout air-conditioning system..hehe~

right after that me, en sahar n maswan went back to our office. the rest of the Property team have their meeting with Subang's team untill 6.30pm..and i went back at 5.30pm like always~ ^_^

end of day 4~

week1 day 3: yey! finally!

salam~

i am really happy today..happier than yesterday for sure! yesterday was a bored day but today i get the point..they are trying to balanced thing maybe..haha..yea rite..yesterday i was told to stare at the drawings because today i was taken to almost all the building in MAS complex..yey! and i got to see few MAS airplanes! hoho..finally! ok2..i put it in detail~

8.00am: arrived at MAS complex~

9.00am: berguru with en yusuf bout interior designing and processes involved..gosh..didnt know interior designing need to think bout all sort of things..en usop said..they, designers are mad with eric leong because he didnt really do interior designing..it is all interior deco..so the program name..deco with eric does make sense to me..hoho..so no argue from me there..but i do like it when he said i can too see him design later if he got project..hope he will! :D

11.00am: en azhar asked if i want to follow him to the complex do auditing for maintenance..so i followed! hehe..and we went to the hanger! saw few plane..saw a new plane assembled..so much fun..an mr azhar is from kedah...very near to my house! hehe..and plus..he is badrul muhayat look-alike..hehe~

12.30pm: mr sahar brief me bout KLIA power systems..and because i woke up at 5am this morning..i was half awake listening to his talk..huhu..sorry sir..i promise i will drink more nescafe tomorrow..erk~

3.00pm: mr mokhtar called to ask me whether i want to follow him to hanger 6..of course i want!! hehe..another hanger! yey! more plane for me! he showed me the hanger, the cafe (where like 20 plane crews were curiously watching me passing here n there..haha..*blush2 ^_^ then he balanje drink while he explained bout the system..

5pm: went back to admin building with a promise to go to cargo area after i got my airport pass..yey!! i want to see animal hotel! ok..i am forgetting my main purpose doing practical..hehe..

i love the working surrounding there..every tuesday and friday there will be ceramah at the surau..good for the souls~

oh..tomorrow i will be attending a safety briefing to make the MAS pass..so not expecting anything much for tomorrow~

morning: due to another trainee supervisor's visit I was told to wait and look at drawings the whole day..huhu..yes i said THE WHOLE DAY! huhuu..super bored..my my supervisor said i need to familiarize myself with those drawing because i told them i didnt have any exposure with any before..haha..suit me right..haha..internet was super slow..so i was alternating internet with those drawing..actuallt those drawing are from Hanger 6. this is the latest hanger MAS completed..the construction has been completed last 2 years but till yesterday the inspection is still going on as mr SV said the warranty still valid till this year so they need to inspect it from time to time..i really hope i can go there someday..hehe..mr SV said i can..so..just waiting n wait n wait~

week1 day 1: happy~

officially today..i started my internship at Malaysia Airlines System..yey!!

at 6.30am today i started my journey as an intern..i purposely went there early because eda said the traffic will be super jam..so it is true..i reached Kelana Jaya at 8am..just nice for me to calm my nerves and set foot on the building of Malaysia Airlines Academy..1st thing out of my mouth..wow! suddenly felt like i would later try apply for pilot...haha..the hospitality is superb! even the stewardess i met in the toilet greeted me..how lovely~ after signing the agreement so that i will behave all this 3 months..pn khadijah to head for KLIA..so i went there..arriving at 10am..luckily pn khadijah didnt say the time i should arrive there..so i stop at the petronas near f1 circuit for refueling the car's tummy any my also my own..hoho..super hungry..but i just had bread..huhu~

: my daily pass to klia..but i will be getting my very own id by next week..yipee! :

my supervisor for the next 3 months will be en saharuddin & en zaharuddin aka en din..from the briefing he gave me..i will be doing electrical works and maintenance..plus the fact that i will be taken to everywhere! i am super happy! hehe~
